Who these rules apply to
These rules apply to everyone who uses OMGLoft, guests and account holders alike.
Guest and account
- As a guest you play straight away, with a name given by the site. That name disappears after a day.
- You create an account with an email address and a password. Look after your password and do not share your account with other people. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- Your player name and picture must not insult, mislead, or impersonate other people or the site's staff.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings, on the "Profile and security" tab. For 30 days you can still restore it by signing in. What happens to your data then is described in the privacy policy.
At the table
- Do not insult, spam or impersonate others.
- Do not post illegal or inappropriate content.
- Respect other players' time: do not open tables you do not mean to play at, and do not stall your moves on purpose.
- You can report or block a player who breaks the rules by clicking their name.
How a game runs
- A game starts when everyone at the table is ready. The rules of each game are in the "How to play" section on its page.
- If your connection drops, you have a minute to come back, and the game clock stops in the meantime.
- Leaving a game in progress or running out of time can mean a loss. The details for each game are in "How to play".
Fair play
- Do not cheat or use programs that play for you.
- Do not manipulate ratings; do not play ranked games against your own accounts or housemates to boost a rating. A shared connection is no reason for a penalty.
- The OMGLoft server decides the result of every game. Cards, dice and letters are drawn by the server, as described on the How we draw page.
- In rated and tournament games the server watches for signs of unfair play. A sign is only a flag for a moderator, not a penalty.
Penalties and appeals
Breaking the rules can get an account muted, suspended or banned. Several signs of unfair play can also lead to a block on rated play. You can see every penalty and its reason on the "Penalties and appeals" page. You can appeal a penalty there once, and the moderator's answer will appear in the same place.
Ads
Ads are shown by Google AdSense. We do not show them at the table during a game. If you block ads, we will ask you to unblock them, but the game keeps working.
Changes and contact
These rules may change as the site changes. The current version is always on this page.
